| Pin Drop Violence is a rock group from Bombay, India. They have released one album, Compose Oppose Dispose. In these stale cultural backwaters of Metal, the winter of 2000 witnessed the emergence of one of the most extreme Indian Metal acts. The band gave a voice to the disenfranchised angry urban youths, gaining notoriety and street cred among “front row” crowds all over the country. Pin Drop Violence was like a grenade thrown into the audience, for the first time, had 50 feet wide mosh pits, powered by a unifying force that woke up a passive crowd from their lull. Their music was like a shot of adrenaline in the jugular. Pin Drop Violence (PDV), the five-man chaos-squad consists of Pradeep on vocals, Vispy "V.A.S.P." on guitars, Mithun "Pervert" on guitars, Rohit "P-man" on bass and Jai Rowkavi on drums. They’re all scenesters, mates who come from different cultural and economic backgrounds, what brings them together is a base urge to unleash the demons of fury. From humble beginnings, practicing in the shanties of suburbian Mumbai, just one door, and one bulb, and all connections for the amps coming from that electrical connection, PDV campaigned victories and gigs all over the country. With an electrifying stage act, and kinetic energy that gets even them most jaded scenester headbanging, PDV has earned a reputation of being one of the most explosive live acts. It’s been five years since the band started off on this zero sum venture, and they’ve survived it, because the love doing what they do. The Musical OlympicsWhen did music become a competitive activity? The Indian rock scene is fairly odd that way, in that only a winning band can afford to continue playing. It’s not that you can make money through this or quit your day job, but it bleeds a lot less when you get a few badges of approval and make enough money to travel second class on the trains. Here’s a chronological history of their winning streak:2001TEC 'Resonance – Navi Mumbai Mumbai's R.A.I.T's Horizons (Pradeep won best vocalist) Winners of I-Rock 16 at Rang Bhavan IIT-Mumbai Livewire — Finalists NLS – Was cancelled because of a suicide case, but a memorable show nonetheless.2002I-Rock 17 at Rang Bhavan Hyderabad "Jammin - Rockfest 2002" IIT-Kanpur 20032003I-Rock 18 at Rang Bhavan Pune Woodstock 2003, Goa Engineering College, Goa, Festival of Noise, Rang Bhavan, Mumbai2004I-Rock 19 at Rang Bhavan, 29th August, Chitrakut Grounds, Mumbai.
