| Rick Dufay played guitar in Aerosmith between Brad Whitford's departure in frustration in 1981 and his (along with Joe Perry's) rejoining in 1984. Dufay was apparently a stabilizing force on the band, describing himself (in "Behind The Music: Aerosmith") as caring for Steven Tyler during Tyler's lowest points of addiction and depression, and famously recommending to Tyler the reinvitation of Whitford as well as Perry at his own potential expense, for the sake of Aerosmith overall and Tyler in particular. ...Yeah ok....
