Musicians - Ron Welty


Ron Welty (February 1, 1971) was the drummer for the American punk rock band The Offspring from 1987 through 2003. Ron Welty entered the band at the age of eighteen. The Offspring's original drummer, James Lilja, had been working on studying to be a doctor, snd rarely showed up at band practices. Dexter Holland knew Ron's step-sister, and she introduced the two. Ron begged the band to let him join in place of Lilja, and they agreed. However, he left to form his current band called "Steady Ground", in which he plays drums and co-produces. Atom Willard
is his successor as drummer in The Offspring. Ron plays a TAMA Starclassic Drumkit with Zildjian Cymbals. On February 26, 2006, Steady Ground released 3 demos on it's myspace address, entitled "Everyone's Emotional," "I Can't Contain Myself," and "You Better Close Your Eyes."
