Musicians - Sabrina Setlur

Sabrina Setlur (born January 10, 1974 in Frankfurt am Main, Hessen) is a German rapper.

In 1993, at the age of 19, the daughter of Indian immigrants was discovered for German Hip-Hop group Rödelheim Hartreim Projekt and record label, when she was rapping to Dr Dre's "Nuthin' but a 'G' Thang" while driving in her car.

She first entered the German charts in 1995 with the Hip-Hop project Schwester S ("Sister S") and the album S ist soweit. In 1997 she followed-up with her original name and released her solo debut album Die neue S-Klasse, which topped the German charts and earned her an ECHO and a Comet award for "Best Female Artist", pushed by the success of her #1-single "Du Liebst Mich Nicht".

Her latest album Sabs was released in November 2003, simultaneously with her engagement as a jury member in the German Popstars reality television series. The record spawned four singles (including "Liebe", a collaboration she used to contend for the Eurovision Song Contest) and among other things it also embraced her 2001 relationship with tennis star Boris Becker.

Since the beginning of 2004 Setlur is a Goodwill Ambassador for German refugee aid NGO "UNO-Flüchtlingshilfe". Her fourth album is scheduled for a late 2006 release.
