Musicians - Sol Hurok


Sol Hurok (April 9, 1888 - March 5, 1974) was an American music agent and impresario. He was born in Pogar, Russia.

He moved to the United States in 1906 and became a naturalized citizen in 1914. In 1935 he took over as manager for African American singer Marian Anderson and managed her for the rest of her performing career. He also represented many other major classical musicians of the twentieth century, including Jerome Hines and Arthur Rubinstein
.

He died in New York City.
