| Somei Satoh (b. Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, January 19, 1947) is a Japanese composer. His compositions are often meditative in nature, and are influenced by Shinto and Zen Buddhism. He studied at Nihon University of Art in the early 1970s and is essentially self-taught in composition. He lives in Tokyo.
