Son Dexter (born 1969) started as the protege of Chicago House and Deep House music guru Larry Heard. Elusive and mysterious, he has kept clear of the press, and has his music released mostly on high fidelity vinyl, preferring to give his listeners optimum aural quality.

Stylized by tasteful guitar use, lilting spanish percussion and warm jazz harmonic overtones, his original music and remixes have been widely accepted in the deep house genre.
