| Thierry Amar is a Canadian musician and is a member of both Godspeed You! Black Emperor and co-creator of A Silver Mt. Zion, along with Efrim Menuck and Sophie Trudeau. Amar is a bassist for both bands he participates in, and can often be found playing contrabass in A Silver Mt. Zion. He has also been known to play violin. As with everyone else in A Silver Mt. Zion, Amar sings vocals. Along with Howard Bilerman and Efrim Menuck, Amar owns and operates the Hotel2Tango, a loft space that is a practice area, recording studio, and one of the very few non-commercial venues in Montréal that is capable of playing live concerts.
