Musicians - Thomas G:son

Thomas G:son is a Swedish composer and musician from Skövde, north-east of Göteborg. Since 1998, Thomas has worked full time as a songwriter for the company G:songs. Besides his job, he plays the guitar in a hard rock band. Thomas G:son is mostly known for the 26 songs he has written for the Nordic and Baltic national finals for the Eurovision Song Contest; 18 for Sweden, four for Finland, three for Norway and one for Latvia. One of these, Lyssna till ditt hjärta performed by the young quartet Friends, won Melodifestivalen 2001 and later did a great performance at the Eurovision Song Contest 2001 in Copenhagen, Denmark, placing fifth with the English version Listen To Your Heartbeat. This year, Thomas G:son has delievered the record amount of eight selected entries to three national finals - Sweden, Norway and Latvia - and most of them are very famous artists, including four singers who already represented Sweden at the Eurovision and another one who already enjoyed huge international success; Jessica Folcker. Those who are believed to have the greatest potential of reaching the European final in Athens in May are Sweden's most popular singer Carola, already representing Sweden twice at the contest and who won the whole shebang with Fångad av en stormvind at the Eurovision Song Contest 1991 in Rome, plus the Norwegian drag duo Queentastic, who are the hot favourites to win Melodi Grand Prix 2006 besides super-star Trine Rein and the folk-ballad singer from Bergen, Christine Guldbrandsen
