| Vatroslav Lisinski (Christened Ignaz Fuchs July 8, 1819 in Zagreb; † May 31, 1854 Zagreb) was a Croatian composer. Lisinksi was one of the founders of the Illyrian Movement, the return to Croatian cultural heritage, as a reaction to Hungarianisation during Austro-Hungarian rule. Lisinski composed the first Croatian operas, "Ljubav i zloba" ("Love and Malice", 1846), which he wrote at the urging of Alberto Štriga, and "Porin" (1851) as well as numerous works for orchestra, choir and soloists. He changed his name as an expression of patriotism to the Croatian translation of Ignaz Fuchs.
