| Walter Goehr (1903 in Berlin - 1960 in Sheffield, the United Kingdom) was a German composer. Arnold Schoenberg was his most important teacher. His first successful work was Malpopita in 1931, an opera especially designed for being broadcast. This work is scheduled for its first live performance in 6 May 2004, in Berlin, Prenzlauer Berg, Abspannwerk Humboldt. His son Alexander Goehr is now a successful composer living in the United Kingdom.
