Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising is a first person shooter computer game from Novalogic that focuses almost entirely on its expansive online multiplayer mode.

Typhoon Rising is set in the near future during a war between Joint Operations forces, which consist of elite special operations soldiers from the U.S., UK, France, Germany, Russia, Indonesia and Australia, and Indonesian separatist rebels.

It's similar to Battlefield Vietnam in its look and feel, where players choose a character and class (Rifleman, Gunner, Sniper, Engineer or Medic), log on, find a server and help their teammates fight against the opposing team in a variety of game types. These are Advance and Secure, where both teams try to capture and hold all the bases on the maps before time runs out, Team Deathmatch, where a kill limit is imposed, and both teams try to reach that goal before the clock runs down, or Team King of the Hill, where the teams try to occupy a small zone on the map for ten minutes to win.

Use of Novaworld servers is free, and only requires purchase of the game itself. Players are able to create games with a player limit of up to 64 people. People can also, if they choose, rent their own large-scale servers, capable of holding up to 150 people at once on a single map.

Typhoon Rising also has an expansion pack called Joint Operations: Escalation.
