The Games

Jumper

Jumper is a 42-level platform game created by YoMamasMama of Helix Games, Inc. and made in Game Maker 5.3a. In the game, the player controls a red, box-shaped character named Ogmo through worlds filled with spikes, lightning, fireballs, and other hazards that are fatal to Ogmo.

The goal is to navigate Ogmo through each screen. Ogmo begins on the left side of the screen and the level ends when Ogmo crosses the right side of it.

It is a challenging game that tests the user's wits and reflexes.

Jumper Two

A 60-level sequel to Jumper, Jumper Two, was released in June 2004, featuring ten themed worlds, three new moves like , and new physics. The worlds include a temple, jungle, cave, and factory. Each level now includes two collectible gemstones: a teal and a ruby. They can be collected to unlock in-game mods, skins, misc, as well as artwork and desktop wallpapers. Other additions in Jumper Two that were not in Jumper include a stage select, a better storyline, more complex and more numerous cutscenes, and unlockable secret stages.

In May of 2005, YoMamasMama released the source code of Jumper Two to the public as a learning resource.

Jumper: Redux

On January 2nd, 2005, YoMamasMama released a nearly finished version of his newest Jumper game, Jumper: Redux, to the Jumper Community Forums as a beta version for final testing. The next day, Jumper: Redux 1.0 was released to the public.

Jumper: Redux is a remake of the original Jumper! done in Game Maker 6.0 featuring new graphics, nine new music tracks, a new menu, online multiplayer with up to four players, and a new "Redux" set of levels in addition to the "Original" set from Jumper!. Jumper: Redux will probably never feature a level editor, but Jumper Two Editor 4.00 introduced many gameplay objects from Redux.

Around February 17th, 2005, YoMamasMama released Jumper Redux 1.1, featuring mainly bug fixes and more stable coding.

Jumper Three

Jumper Three will be the final game in the Jumper trilogy. It has not been completed yet, but a demo has been released featuring a tutorial level and a more difficult second level, meant to be a challenge for long-time Jumper players. According to YoMamasMama, the first level will be a tutorial level, and the second level will not be in the final game.

Jumper Three features many types of vials which Ogmo can drink to change his genes and take on new forms. In some cases, this new form will aid Ogmo, but in others, it will hinder him.

Not much is known about the plot of Jumper Three, but YoMamasMama has given several details. Jumper Two's GostBot, the ghost-like robot from Jumper Two that appears to be Ogmo's enemy, will apparently take a large part in the plot of Jumper Three. Most of the game will take place on a technological amusement park on an island. Also, the cryptic ending of Jumper Two will finally be explained at some point during the game. The boss are the StormNinja, and DarkBot.

YoMamasMama has given several details about the gameplay of Jumper Three. He has posted a list of Ogmo form names, he has said that there will be a lives system, and while the first sectors will be easier than Jumper Two's first sectors, the last sectors will be harder than Jumper Two's last sectors.

Soon after the main game's release, YoMamasMama may release a multiplayer version of Jumper Three titled Jumper Three Versus. The gameplay in Versus will probably be very similar to that of Jumper: Redux multiplayer.

Level Editors

Both Jumper and Jumper Two feature level editors that allow the player to make their own Jumper stages to play and share with others. In addition to having the choice of most of the normal objects, players can use several objects and features that were never in the original game.

Jumper Editor

The Jumper Editor, based on the original Jumper, was released in five versions: Version 1.0, Version 1.1, Version 2.0, Version 2.1, and Version 2.2. Version 2.2 will most likely be the final release. It features a custom-pickable background color, a variety of skins to change Ogmo's appearance, several tabs full of objects to use in a level, a locking feature, and options to have clouds or fog in your level.

Jumper Two Editor

The Jumper Two Editor, originally based on Jumper Two, was released in eleven versions and is still being updated. The released editor versions are 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3. 3.4, 3.5, 4.00, 4.01, 4.02, 4.03, and 4.04, the newest version.

Early versions of the editor, from 1.0 to 3.5, were heavily based on Jumper Two, featuring all of the blocks, scenery, most objects, and some special additions. Improvements over Jumper Editor included storylines, help blocks, new music, more skins,

Jumper Two Editor 4.00 was a complete interface rewrite over version 3.5, with several new skins and music choices. The most noticeable change by far is the interface. The editor is divided into menus, switchable with a bar on the left side of the screen. The current menu is shown to the right of the bar. The bar not only lets you see the music, background, and other option screens as in 3.5, but the stages themselves. When viewing a stage, you choose the objects to place from the bar at the bottom.
