RED DOG : Superior Firepower (or just Red Dog) is a video game developed by Argonaut Software for the Sega Dreamcast, released in Europe in 1999 and published by Crave Entertainment in USA in 2000. It was never released in Japan. It is a cross-genre game where you drive an offroad buggy through a level, shooting enemies.

The background story follows a seven year peace agreement between Human and the Haak, where contact with a number of human populations near Haak settlements have been lost. Search / recon parties sent out were destroyed, so the Humans are waging war on the Haak, sending out the Red Dog command vehicle to lead the fight.

Red Dog can drive forward, reverse, turn left and right, boost quickly (which enables powersliding while turning), shoot weapon, overload weapon, powerups/missiles, strafe left and right, and has a shield which can reflect enemy projectiles back at them or in another direction.

The game consists of 6 single-player missions, and completing these unlocks a "hard" difficulty setting. There are also 7 bonus challenges which range from collecting tasks, to shooting tasks, to manouvering the vehicle through levels. Completing each of these challenge missions (or finishing single player missions with an "A" rating) will unlock bonus features, or upgrades to the vehicle.

1. Volcanic Island Outpost.
2 Arctic Research Center.
3 Grand Canyon Docks Zone.
4 Underground Hydro Generator.
5 Red Dog Research City.
6 The Haak Mothership.

Red Dog also has a strong splitscreen multiplayer mode, consisting of 3 game types (Skirmish, Team and Tournament), 16 maps, and 7 play modes (including, among others, Deathmatch, Bomb Tag and King of the Hill).
