Tinkle Pit (Japanese: ティンクルピット) is an arcade game that was released by Namco in 1993 only in Japan.

Overview

The player walks around a maze collecting items while tied to a disproportionately sized sleigh bell. The player has the ability to drop the bell, which is invulnerable to enemies, and move around by pressing the A button. Pressing A again makes the bell snap back to the player; enemies are killed by having the bell slam into them. Clearing all enemies in a maze advances the player to the next stage.

Description

In Tinkle Pit, an evil wizard spawns monsters in a tiny village. The nameless protagonist of Tinkle Pit chooses to go on a world-saving quest to defeat the wizard and his minions. He is accompanied by an oversized, anthropomorphic sleigh bell as his weapon. The plot of Tinkle Pit is a minor, negligible component of the game. Though the story portion (written in Japanese) is likely incomprehensible to most foreigners, the autonomous arcade portion (which employs mostly English text) is quite readable.

The game is divided into groups of four stages plus a boss level following them.
