Arcade game
developed by Toaplan in 1988, Truxton is a scrolling shooter set in space where you fly a small spaceship across several planets. The Japanese title is Tatsujin, the music was composed by Masahiro Yuge. The game is played with an 8-way joystick and a shot and a bomb button to destroy 5 bosses. By picking up items you can upgrade your ship, pick up an S to increase the speed (up to four times), pick up a B to increase your number of bombs, pick up 5 P to increase power by 1 degree, up to 4 P remain if the player dies. Pick up 1up or 2up icons to increase the number of lives. Pick up a red icon for a power shot, a green icon for a TATSUJIN beam or a blue icon for the Sun Laser. The sequel to this game is Truxton 2 (Tatsujin Oh in Japan).
