Video games - Utsurun-Desu

Utsurun Desu - Kawauso Hawaii e iku or Utsurun Desu - Kawauso move's to Hawaii is a Japanese video game for the Nintendo Famicom (NES) based on the popular Japanese manga character from the 1980's "the otter man", Kawauso-kun from Sensya Yoshida's series Uturun Desu. The game was developed in 1991 by Takara and published by Shogakukan Productions Co.,Ltd..

The game is largely a traditional platform game with the player controlling Kawauso-kun. Notably the title attempted to break away from many video game conventions of the time, such as including two fake title screens and allowing the character to traverse the background to bridge the seamingly impossible to cross pit of spikes.

Interestingly the characters attack works by holding down the attack button as the game cycles through the possible special moves with the more powerful attacks only highlighted for a short period of time.
