X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse is a follow up to X-Men Legends
a role-playing game released in 2005 for the Xbox, PlayStation 2, N-Gage, PSP, and GameCube video game consoles as well as the PC.

New features

X-Men Legends II includes an online multiplayer feature.
New mutants are playable.
Switch the mutant power abilities, using other mutant abilities that are unlocked.
The ability to use both characters from the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.
Ability to switch between more than 4 mutant powers at once.

Story

The story begins with the X-men and the Brotherhood launching a rescue mission to save Professor X who has been captured by Apocalypse.

Apocalypse has begun his war on human and mutant kind alike, beginning with his invasion of the mutant controlled nation of Genosha. Professor X and Magneto come to the realization that the only way to defeat this enemy that threatens all life on the planet (not just mutant or human life) is for their respective groups to join forces.

The game's story is inspried by the Age of Apocalypse storyline from the Marvel Comics series to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the event. It is not however a truly exact duplication of the storyline as there are several differences, most notably that Professor X is still alive in the game's continuity. However, some of the events and many of the principal characters still exist in the game the same as they do in the Marvel story.

, while new faces and characters appear during some levels. Some characters are playable while some are not also others can be unlocked.

Online & Multiplayer

X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse brings up to 4 players either offline or online. Players who have purchased it on the Xbox can play online via Xbox Live. During Xbox Live playabilty, players have to be aware of the following requirments: only Danger Room and Campaign mode can be played. Players need the same set of television in order to join a game. Which means players must have the same televsion settings has of other players, player must also have the same inches/size of the television as of others. Players must also have the unlocked Danger room disc.

N-Gage: 4 players is only avaible online, players will need to activate their bluetooth to connect and play.
PSP: 4 players is only available online.
